Bollywood films are known for good music. Soundtracks are an integral part of Bollywood films and are instrumental in the commercial success of the film. However, exceptions always exist. Many films are released which has superhit music tracks but the films do badly at the box office. Below is a list of TOP 10 Bollywood songs in flop films.

This 1998 Boby Deol starred Vidhu Vinod Chopra movie did not make any impression on the audience mind. Bobby Deol and Neha's romance was lost among super hit films like Shahrukh –kajol-Rani Mukherjee starred Kuch Kuch Hota Hai which released around the same time. The music of the film was given by Anu Malik, which was a treat to the ears. Some of the songs of the film such as ‘Chori Chori Jab Nazrein Mili', ‘Chura Lo Na Dil Mera’ still makes us drool.

This 1998 Mani Ratnam romantic thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan, Manisha Koirala and Preity Zinta with its intense plot and compelling drama failed to strike a chord with the audience. The film did badly in India but perhaps had one of the best soundtracks of the 90s. Each and every song of the album became a huge hit specially Chaiyya Chaiyya. The musical genius A.R.Rahman created a landmark musical album which is still fresh with us even today. The soundtrack was recorded in several other languages. Songs like Chaiyya Chaiyya, Dil Se Re, Satrangi still manages us to hum. The song Chaiyya Chaiyya was played in the Bombay Dreams, a 2002 Bollywood-themed musical, in the Hollywood film Inside Man, and in the TV series CSI: Miami released in 2002 and Smith released in 2006.

Though the Tamil version of the film which was the original version, was a box office success, this Hindi version ended up being a dud. The film failed to produce any interest among the movie goers. However, the romantic music track created by A.R. Rahman led by "Ae Nazneen Suno Na", is still fresh with us and created waves across.

The film is about 3 men fighting various issues of life like family dispute, love, marital problem etc. Some songs like Tu Aashiqui hai, Sil Ne Tum ko Chun Liya Hai are famous even today.

The film had a Aadesh Shrivastava and Anand-Milind score and is remembered for the romantic song - "Saawan Barse Tarse Dil". However, the film was a big flop.

Tabu and Kunal Kapoor starred Meenaxi: A tale of 3 cities directed by famous painter M.F.Hussain bombed at the box office. The film is about a novelist from Hyderabad named Nawab (Yadav) who suffers from a condition called ‘writer's block’. The soundtrack of the album was created by genius A.R.Rahman and it met critical acclaim. The movie had songs like ‘Chinnamma Chilakkamm’ and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ which are popular even today.

A lot of expectations were attached from this Subhas Ghai movie as it had a mega star cast which comprised of Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, Jackie Shroff etc. It was critical and commercial failure in India but the Anu Malik soundtrack that surprised everyone. People began to hear songs of the album like Jab dil Mile on repeat mode.

10. Thakshak (1999) - Rang De
